| Weatherseal International Track Meeting |
BRITISH
points race champion Paul Curran collected five wins from the Weatherseal
international track meeting at Meadowbank, Edinburgh over the weekend.
They included the 40-lap Derny-paced event which he took in a close finish from Scottish 15-kilometre champion Tom Annable, City of Edinburgh. Curran and Annable later joined forces for the 100-lap Madison, and dominated the event, winning all but one of the five sprint laps, the odd one out going to runners-up Mark Barry and Jon Walshaw, VC Nottingham.
Barry
was winner of the City of Edinburgh Grand Prix, beating Scots champion Eddie
Alexander, City of Edinburgh, 2-0 in the final. Third place went to Welsh
champion Steve Paulding, City of Edinburgh.
A good crowd enjoyed the fine weather but strong winds kept speeds down, Barry's fastest 200 metres being 12.32.
