NATIONAL 100km Team Time Trial

Curran leads team to a National win

PAUL CURRAN is finally finding the cycling form which eluded him last month in the Milk Race.

Last Saturday, Paul led his Manchester Wheelers' team to another fine win in the National Team Time Trial Championships.

This 100km event, last held in 1985, was won then won by Manchester Wheelers, led by Darryl Webster.

Curran led this year's winning quartet of Deno Davie, Peter Longbottom and Rob Holden to a convincing victory over surprise silver medallists, CC Bowland.

Curran also took fourth place in the C.R. Smith pro-am Grand Prix at Dunfermline. A break of three riders went clear, containing Curran's team member, Davie, who finished third.

After winning the first Ferryhill Wheelers' Australlan Pursuit, Curran will be riding again tonight (7pm) in the second of four races held every Tuesday in June. The course lies between Bishopton and Great Stainton.

RESULTS

1. Manchester Whs (Paul Curran, Deno Davie, Peter Longbottom and Rob Holden)
