Curran the boss in grand prix victory

PAUL Curran continued his rich vein of form when he led a North-East one-two in Sunday's Bosswipe Grand Prix over an 85-mile course at Buxton, Derbyshire.

The Optimum Performance RT rider from Thornaby finished over two minutes clear of former national amateur road race champion David Cook (Middridge CRT), with the top ten finishers spread out over 14 minutes as the tough terrain took its toll.

Curran and Cook broke away from a leading group of five starting the last eight-mile lap, and Curran launched his winning attack four miles later.
